I have to make this quick...Black water rafting was a lot of fun! We rappelled down into a cave about 120 feet. Part of it was a tight squeeze. Then we took a zip line deeper into the cave and had coffee/tea and rice cookies. We then had to hold inner tubes to our rumps and jump into the freezing cold water in a seated position. The landing hurt (the cliff was about 15' high). then we pulled ourselves along a rope down the cave and/or walked along the soft, sandy bottom. We didn't go too far and we turned off our headlamps and made a train (Feet to armpit) and one of our guides pulled us along in the dark so we could look at glow worms (Maggots with "shiny shit"). Then we returned our tubes and walked and slid in very narrow tunnels. We climbed two waterfalls and an eel came up to my foot in one pool. It was a lot fo fun and we met some really nice people, except for the only other American on the trip (9 ppl total). She was grumpy and rude. We bought the pictures of the trip so you'll all get to see them.
No pictures yet, there's no free wifi anywhere. The bar we went to couldn't get the wifi to work. We'll keep trying.

was any part of this scary? besides the eel? I watched video of it online and it was very much as you described. I am craving HEAT, SUN and outdoor WATER. What I wouldn't give to be basking in the sun with "SUN" magazine down at Black beach!
Lovin' ya!
What fun! I would love that sort of an adventure. So glad to hear you are having some fun. I wanted to ask you how friendly the natives are. It will be interesting as you go along to see how you are regarded.
When you get to China I would highly recommend that you try to visit a primary school. I saw an Independent Lens that was filmed in a third grade class in china. The students were doing a study in democracy and trying to elect a classmate to be a class monitor. The children were so adorable. I bet an open minded teacher would be thrilled to have some American students visit their students. It would be a good way to show your american goodness. Lots of fun too!
Keep on having fun! Love, Leen
Black water rafting sound great. Not something you could do here. We just celebrated 40 year Anniversary at the Davenport in Spokane. It was great. The hotel was originally built arount the time of the Titanic. Great restoration. Have are great time!!
Hey! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Kathy & Jack! It hardly seems possible that you've been married that long. (you're not old enough!)
We have free WiFi at the public library. Maybe they have it there too. Sara, you are no wuss, that's for sure. I would have s**t my p**ts. Oh, too be young and adventurous again.
Its minus 22 degrees here this morning. Gary would never be able to do the zorbing or black water rafting. Remember how he had to wait for us outside when we did the cave? Have lots of fun!
God, nasty things are in all the water! How am I supposed to relax if I am scared of water plants, and simple little maggots poop nuclear waste? It sounds like fun, but I am pretty sure I would need to be tranquilized. I cannot wait to see the Zorbing video
