Real Quick

We made it Poland, after sitting on the tarmac for an hour and a half. Our first impression of poland is that it's very beautiful, not how I imagined it. Today looks like it will be a beautiful day too. We arrived after dark so we didn't see much, but what we could see makes us think that this is probably a very beautiful city as well. I think a large part of the town center is surrounded by a large park. We just walked around the perimeter. The night life here is very active, as a result I didnt sleep well last night, drunk people shouting outside my window all night. We're going to Aushwitz today, then taking a night train to Vienna.

Good morning! Today will be very intense for you as you visit Aushwitz. I can't even imagine what it will be like. No matter how tired and uncomfortable you may be it will be nothing like those poor souls endured.
It will no doubt impact you for the rest of your lives.
Do you have any truly lazy days planned?/ There is snow on the ground and in the trees this a.m.. It is NOT a pretty sight! I'm glad to hear that you are surprised by the beauty of Poland. I hope you have time to explore a bit. Sweet dreams on the night train to Vienna Sara and James! Love, EEN

Welcome to Poland! :-) I've been online all morning doing google searches on all the places you've been and will be going. I wonder what the name of the hostel is that you are staying in Poland. I've found 31 of them! I can't imagine all the work it must have taken to plan such an adventure. Huge flakes of snow on my deck this morning. Yuck! Keep having fun! Love, MomA

Hi Kids, It's 10 p.m. where you are..I wonder if you're on the train to Vienna. I checked the EU weather forecast and it seems you are going to have near perfect weather for the next week. So, what was Aushwitz like? I can only imagine. I think it would depress me a great deal but it's something we all should see. The sun is finally shining here but I just heard it's only 37 in Duluth. I think we made it to 41. I emailed Janet, Linda and Nancy again about your blog...I'm not sure if they know how it works. More soon. Love ya both! MomA
P.S. Be prepared for sleepless nights in most EU countries because their night life doesn't get going until 10 p.m. at the earliest and usually goes til 4 in the morning. Especially in Italy and Spain.

Good morning! I have enjoyed reading your blog. I had that whole aunt thing going on where I worried about my niece and husband until last week when I opened your blog and bam you had written. Not so worried now. Sounds like you are enjoying the trip. Did you know the Koepp's came from what is Poland now but was part of Germany then? Aushwitz just gets me upset. I can not understand how people could be that brain washed to do those evil things to others. Was in SB over othe weekend, cold, and snow on sunday. The Pitkin's big new is we no longer have a 10 year old car we are now the proud owners of a SUV, Envoy Denli with all the bells and whistles. Only 12 students days left but I'm not counting. Reports cards this week. Love you both have a great piece of chocolate for me while you are on your trip.
